How to read this
- List prices only. No free tier, credits, Savings Plans, Reserved Instances, private pricing or taxes. Your bill was likely lower than these numbers.
- Effective dates, month granular. Each price is placed at the date AWS says it took effect, which is often weeks before AWS published it. AWS records those dates as month starts, so a change that took effect mid-month shows at the start of that month.
- Tiers as published. Tiered prices are applied to the monthly quantity using the tier ranges in the price list for that date. Where the price list itself prices the first units at $0 (DynamoDB's first 25 GB-month of storage, the first GB of data transfer out in most versions before December 2021), that is included. Free allowances that are not in the price list, such as Lambda's monthly free requests, are not.
- Gaps are shown, not filled. The price list history starts in 2015 (2016 for Lambda). Items launched later, such as DynamoDB on-demand in November 2018, have no price before launch, and a total that leaves an item out is marked partial.
- EC2 items are On-Demand Linux instance hours with shared tenancy and no pre-installed software. Other operating systems (Red Hat Enterprise Linux, SUSE, Windows) and bundled software such as SQL Server have their own rates and are not included, so the 2024 change to RHEL pricing does not appear here.
- Data transfer out uses the S3 offer file until AWS moved internet data transfer into its own AWS Data Transfer offer in December 2018, then that offer.
- Latest means the most recent price in the history, from versions published through 2026-10-09. Check the AWS pricing pages before relying on a number.
