Changelog

What changed in CostPulse

Changes you can see or use, newest first, dated by the day each change was merged. Internal work (infrastructure, tests, tooling) is left out. Questions about any of it: support.

October 2026

  • Smaller IAM role: the CloudFormation template now grants only the read-only actions CostPulse calls
  • Starter plan alert-channel limits now match the pricing page
  • Clearer price-change wording on alerts: month-level effective dates and singular units
  • Incident Ledger: a multi-day spike is one incident you can Acknowledge, mark Expected until a date, or mark Fixed, from Slack, Teams, email or the dashboard
  • Every spike alert says what drove it: more usage, a new charge, your rate, an AWS list-price change, or unknown with the reason
  • Bill X-Ray at /aws-price-check/: was it AWS or was it you?
  • Price history calculator for AWS at /calculator/
  • Spike alerts and the weekly digest mention AWS list-price changes on the usage types you use
  • Price change tracker for AWS at /aws-price-changes/
  • Alert on spend that appears with no history
  • Every alert explains why it fired, on the dashboard and the demo
  • Read FOCUS 1.x billing exports as well as the AWS Cost and Usage Report, and show amounts in your billing currency

September 2026

  • Alerts show which cost allocation tags account for a spike
  • NAT gateway, data transfer and CloudWatch spikes are described in billed units, not only dollars
  • Month-end projection and budget burn in the weekly digest
  • Fewer steps to connect an AWS account with CloudFormation Quick Launch
  • Working action buttons on Slack alerts
  • After you connect, the dashboard shows what CostPulse would have caught in your last 30 days

August 2026

  • Subscriptions bought on AWS Marketplace link to your CostPulse account
  • Bedrock spikes expressed in tokens, and an alert line when a model's cost per token drifts
  • Fewer false alarms: a same-weekday check, and a raised bar on the first two days of the month
  • Guided first-run dashboard
  • Public demo dashboard: see the product before connecting anything

July 2026

  • 14-day free trial
  • Subscribe from the account page
  • Choose the hour and timezone your alerts arrive
  • Fix: the threshold and digest settings you save now change what CostPulse does
  • Send anomaly alerts during the working day, and say which day they cover
  • Microsoft Teams alerts: link a Teams workspace to your CostPulse account
  • Connecting an account sets up the Cost and Usage Report export for you, and loads recent spend from Cost Explorer so detection starts on day one
  • A page that explains exactly what the IAM role can and cannot do
  • Email alerts, alongside Slack and Teams

June 2026

  • Beta launch: checkout and AWS account connection
